Daniel Mark Graham

Daniel Mark Graham was born on August 30, 1950, in Wenatchee, Washington. He died on Dec. 14, 2017, after a long struggle with cancer.

Dan was raised in Seattle, WA, attended Mt. Rainier High School in Des Moines, WA, and later moved to California. After two years in Sonoma, he and his wife, Janet Ballard, settled in Oakmont.

The jobs Dan held during his working life ranged from making buckets to serving as a tailor’s apprentice. He worked in the auto industry for most of his life, doing everything from sales to assistant manager to computer support for the auto dealerships in California and Washington.  He had been retired for 10 years.

He was a golf enthusiast, playing several times each week and he was quite good. His volunteer efforts included staffing voting precincts during elections and helping with holiday dinners at the Vintage House senior center, from kitchen duty to clean-up. He also loved to barbecue, which he did every day.

Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Joanna Margaret McNew, and his father, George Mills Graham, III. He is survived by his wife, Janet, sons Evan Cox and Mathew Rohde, stepmother Nancy Graham, brothers Scott, Richard and Gary Graham, stepbrother Jay Graham, sisters Linda Morris, Janice Barrett, Janet Winter and MaryAnne Falcone, stepkids Jeff Fanning and Kristi Fisher, and many nieces, nephews and stepgrand kids. Dan also leaves behind his beloved pets: cat Sammie and dogs Thurston and Aimee. Aimee joined Dan only a couple of weeks after his death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA, Meals on Wheels, or Friends in Sonoma Helping (F.I.S.H.).
