Beloved Family Member passes on.
Victor Javier Rosales passed away peacefully of natural causes in his home, near family members who would keep in contact with him.
He is predeceased by his parents, Armando and Ligia Rosales and his sibling, Julio Rosales.
He is survived by his siblings, Armando Rosales, Jr., Jaime Rosales and Ligia (Alexander) Mathews, his nieces and nephew, Rebecca (Julian), Christina and Mitchell, his great nephews, Elijah, Noah, and Josiah, and a great number of extended family and friends.
Victor was born on October 1, 1956, in San Francisco, CA. He was the third of five children and often referred to himself as the “middle child”. He graduated from a parochial school in San Francisco (St Elizabeth’s), and St. Ignatius College Preparatory. He attended the University of San Francisco, San Francisco State University, and received an Associate’s Degree from San Francisco City College. He enjoyed learning and was commonly on the Honor Roll/Deans list. After moving to Sonoma, he dedicated his life to his work as a Human Resources Manager for a private company for 28 years.
Early in his life, Victor was very devoted to his faith. He was an altar server and attended mass daily through his high school years. He was a mentor, a Godfather and a confirmation sponsor.
Victor’s kindness and incredible wit will always be remembered by those who loved him. He was always sensitive to people’s feelings and was very attentive to their needs. He was exceptionally responsible, punctual, and thrifty.
Victor was also very creative. He made very imaginative comics, even as a child.
Victor enjoyed singing with his brothers. As children, they formed a musical group imitating “The Beatles.”, where he played the role of John Lennnon. He continued to develop an appreciation for numerous genres of music and became a music collector. He also continued to enjoy getting together with his brothers as adults, singing a variety of songs at parties.
Victor was an avid sports fan. For a time, he was even a season ticket holder for SF 49ers, SF Giants, and the Oakland Raiders. He was also loyal Warrior’s fan since childhood.
Victor was a movie buff and enjoyed watching and critiquing films. He was interested in a wide variety of genres, and was very knowledgeable of this art, considering aspects like storytelling, acting, cinematography, and direction.
Family was of utmost importance to Victor. He was always attentive to the needs of family members, ensuring that they were cared for. He loved caring for his nieces and nephews. He was a mentor to them, and they loved him dearly.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, September 6th at 12:00pm at Saint Francis Solano Church at 469 Third Street West, in Sonoma, CA.
