Vernon Angeli passed away peacefully on February 8, 2022 at home with his wife, Rogena by his side. Born in Marin County and raised in San Francisco, he was proud to be a First Generation Italian-American. He and Rogena were married in 1969 and soon moved to Sonoma with her children, Serena, Tony and Richard Thomasson. In 1978 their son Pete was born. Vern was a wonderful father to all of them. He has five grand-children, Serena’s sons, Tony, Michael and Jesse and Pete’s children, Savannah and Max Angeli and six great-grandchildren. Vern was predeceased by Pete, Serena, Tony and Richard. Upon moving to Sonoma he began a tree-trimming business which he had for twenty years. Then worked in landscaping until he began RSVP Hauling in 1980. He ran this business until 2018. Vern could load a truck tighter than anyone could imagine. His favorite pastime was working, climbing trees, splitting wood or loading a truck and for fun, walking the press and making (and drinking) wine. Vern and Rogena were happily married for 52 years. They enjoyed working together, entertaining friends and family at their home and dancing and vacationing in Rogena’s home on the North Carolina coast. He loved and was loved by friends, family and customers, most everyone he met. His favorite saying was “I’ll retire when I expire” and in the end His Lord called him home because his work here was done and he really didn’t like sitting around.
Friends are invited to attend graveside services, Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 1 pm at Valley Cemetery, 425 West MacArthur Street, Sonoma.
