Una’s journey began in White Plains, NY 1943. She landed in the loving, large, Irish family of Katie and Martin Dockery. After college Una taught for two years in Chicago’s inner city. Moving to San Francisco she became a stewardess flying troops to Vietnam with AirLift International, and ultimately earned her Masters Degree in Special Education. She loved her chosen profession and mentored young people for 47 years. With summers “off” she traveled the world, exploring new countries and cultures. She said goodbye 2-21-26 in Sonoma her home of nearly 30 years. Una felt “blessed and grateful for a wonderful life.” She had a great, fun-loving, positive spirit and will be deeply missed. With hearts full of love, we send her on to the next adventure — Fly, Una Bird, Fly!
Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will be Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Solano Catholic Church, 469 Third St. West, Sonoma, CA
