Theresa Christine Kappes peacefully passed away on July 13, 2026, in Sonoma, California, after a short illness. Born on July 26, 1935, in San Francisco, California, Theresa was active in her community throughout her 90 years. Theresa was the beloved daughter of Pauline Sprague and Charles Mifsud, and she was predeceased by her devoted husband, Gerald Kappes, with whom she shared a remarkable life and her son-in-law, Robert Adams. Married on April 14, 1954, in Sonoma, the couple built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure with travel including a monthlong trip to Europe as well as her parents’ birthplace, Malta. Together, they raised their daughter, Linda Adams, in the scenic beauty of Sonoma, where they enjoyed countless memories of folk dancing, camping, and joyous gatherings with family and friends. Theresa's life was a testament to the power of community and friendship. She was known for her generous spirit and her genuine interest in the lives of those around her. Her home was always open and she welcomed freshly baked scones from her treasured friends. Her neighbors and friends were frequent visitors, drawn to her gentle presence and caring nature. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Theresa's family was close. She is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Adams, and her cherished grandchildren, Rob (Kira) and Amanda (Ryan). Her legacy of love continues through her great-grandchildren, Nathan, Adalynn, Carter, and Ethan, who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Theresa is also survived by her siblings, Barbara Flynn and Sandy Sprague, who shared with her a lifetime of memories. A private ceremony will be held to honor Theresa's life, in keeping with her wishes. In the hearts of those who knew and loved her, Theresa Christine Kappes will forever be remembered as a woman of extraordinary warmth, whose life was a beautiful testament to love, family, and friendship. Her spirit will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched with her kindness and grace.
