Sally Grimshaw, MD Obituary
On August 7, 2025, Dr. Sally R. Grimshaw passed away peacefully in Sonoma, California.
Sally was born in Sacramento to Robert and Maud Grimshaw. She graduated from Sacramento High School and the University of California, Berkeley with honors. Dr. Grimshaw received her medical degree from the Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania and was the recipient of the Elsie L’Esterance award.
In 1962 Sally married Dr. Stephen Cox. They settled in Sonoma and adopted daughter Emily.
During her medical career Dr. Grimshaw worked for Dr. Edwin “Ned” Rose, Sonoma Developmental Center, Napa State Hospital and the Veterans Home in Yountville.
After retirement Sally enjoyed gardening, reading and writing poetry. She will be remembered for her generous heart.
Interment, East Lawn Memorial Park, Sacramento, California.
