Born 4-6-1947 Died 10-27-2012 Ronald was one of two sons born to Frederick and Fern Harrah at Hamilton Air Force Base on April 6, 1947. Ron spent his childhood in Sonoma, California. He played sports such as baseball, football and he ran track. He attended Sonoma Valley High School and graduated in 1965. He enlisted in the US Army and was deployed to Vietnam with Company B 2/327 Infantry 101st Airborne Division. Upon discharge from the army, Ron joined the Laborer's Union Local 291 and worked for Ghilotti Brother's Construction from 1970 until he retired in 2008. Ron was active in the community of Sonoma Valley. He was a longtime member or the Devil's Darlins car club where he served numerous positions. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy for some time and learned to make a mean pasta sauce there. He enjoyed fishing, flying remote control planes, working on his car, mowing his lawn and burning rubber on the streets of Sonoma. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Valerie Harrah;. his beloved children, Veronica Harrah, Frank Harrah and Tina Dunham;, his twin brother, Donald Harrah;. his mother-in-law, Gina Bernabovi. Ronald also left behind his sister-in-law, Lisa Del Fava and her husband, Scott Del Fava, his daughter-in-law, Sara Harrah and his son's partner Kerissa Toovey. Ronald will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Noah Cole, Kylie Cole, Bradley Dunham, O'Brien Simmons, Tyson Simmons and nephews Brennan DeGeorgis, Tony Harrah and niece, Dawn Harrah. Ron also leaves behind numerous cousins and his Aunt Velma Harrah. Friends are invited to attend funeral service at Duggan's Mission Chapel on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. A Private Interment will take place at Santa Rosa Memorial Park. Ron once said "If you did not send flowers while I was alive, don't bring them to me when I am dead". So, in lieu of flowers please make a contribution to The Wounded Warrior Project in Ron's Memory.
