Robert P. Montini

MONTINI, ROBERT P.

Born March 24, 1955 in Sonoma to William and Angie Montini.  Passed away June 30, 2024 of heart failure in San Francisco at the age of 69.  Bobby as known by his friends, graduated from Sonoma Valley High School in 1973.  After graduation, he continued working on the Montini/Poncia Dairy until 2004 when the dairy closed.  He then started raising beef cattle.  He was a 50 year member of the Sonoma Parlor of the Native Sons of the Golden West, Sonoma Moose Lodge, and the Sons of Italy.  Bobby’s favorite pastime was attending social events making sure he brought his friends to support the cause.  He loved to eat and occasionally have a drink or two.  There was never a dull moment when Bobby was around.  He had an infectious smile, a heart of gold and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his sister Carolyn Kiser; brothers Bill and Fred Montini, sisters-in-law Pat and Connie Poncia, nephew Joe Kiser Casey and numerous nieces, aunts and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents William and Angie Montini, Brothers Willie and Reggie Poncia.  A special thanks to longtime friend and personal assistant Gracie Mendoza.

A celebration of life will be held, Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Valley of the Moon Trap Club, 27000 Burndale Rd, Sonoma, CA 95476.
