Robert Michael Ford, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family in Sonoma, California on December 14, 2024. He was born on October 17, 1941 in Buffalo, Illinois to parents William and Mary Ford.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bill. Bob, a loving and devoted husband and father, is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Darlene; his daughters Tiffany Delalay, Marianne Anderson, Erica Ford, and Jill Ford; and his grandchildren Natalie and Tristan Anderson and Audrey and Ford Clark.
Bob attended high school in Alton, Illinois, college at Southern Illinois University, served in the United States Army, and graduated from Sonoma State University. He left Chicago in 1969 to come to Sonoma to visit his Aunt Katherine and never left. He was employed at Kaiser Steel in Napa and then XKT Engineering in Vallejo and retired after more than four decades. He loved playing golf and the ukulele.
A Rosary will be held at St. Francis Solano Church, 469 Third Street West, Sonoma on Thursday, December 19 at 10:00 am followed by funeral services at 11:00 am.
