Ralph Silveria Obituary

Ralph A Silveria, passed peacefully away at his home in Sonoma on July 21, 2024, surrounded by family and friends at his side. He was 89.

A native of Sonoma, Ralph grew up on the families’ multi-generational farm and married his high school sweetheart, Joann (Smith). While attending Sonoma Valley High School, Ralph and his friends became charter members of the Devil’s Darlin’s car club, still one of the longest running car clubs in the Bay Area today. He was known for his quick wit and lighthearted teasing.

For more than 4 decades he was a commercial truck driver; a common fixture in the Bay Area, driving for many local businesses before he became an owner-operator transport. After retiring, Ralph enjoyed tinkering on his farm projects, cultivating the land and raising numerous farm animals. Rumor has it, he liked to take daily naps in his favorite chair while watching TV at the ranch. Every morning he enjoyed breakfast with friends at the Black Bear Diner in town, and was well known by everyone.

Ralph was preceded in death by parents George and Rena Silveria, his wife Joann, his brothers Raymond, George, Stanley, Joe and Ron Silveria. He is survived by his sons, Darryn (Patricia) and Joe Silveria, his sister Dolores Stockton, grandchildren Heather and Ryan, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

At Ralph’s request, there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Lung Association or the charity of your choice.
