Myrtle Sullivan passed away peacefully in Sonoma on June 21st, she was 96 years old.
On October 24, 1925, in Olema, CA, William and Ellen Wilson welcomed their 7th child, Myrtle Ida. Not long after, William and Ellen purchased a ranch on Watmaugh Rd in Sonoma. They moved their family and started the Wilson Dairy. This is where Myrt lived until she married.
Myrt started working at Bank of America in Sonoma and later transferred to the Petaluma branch. While working there she met a fellow employee and husband to be, Bill Sullivan. After a 17 year career with Bank of America, she quit to become a housewife. In April of 1962, Myrt became a mother to a beautiful daughter, Kathleen! And after Kathy married Barry Klegerman, Myrt became a grandmother to Samuel!
Myrt and Bill were avid golfers and belonged to the Santa Rosa Country Club for more than 30 yrs. Bill passed away in 2004, at which time Myrt moved down south to Laguna Niguel to live with Kathy, Barry and Sam.
Myrt loved her hometown of Sonoma. And this pass December she moved back and lived with her niece Suzy Lanning and her family.
Preceded in death by her parents, William and Ellen, husband Bill, siblings Tom(Adeline), Bill(Edna), Fred(Marie), Lil(Mario), Selena, Gil, Reggie(Mary Lou) and her niece Carol.
Survived by her daughter Kathy, son-in-law Barry, grandson Sam, sister-in-law Charlotte and many nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you to those at Valley of the Moon Post Acute Care (Sonoma Valley Hospital) for the wonderful care you gave Myrtle. She truly believed she was at home!
