Scotty was born in San Francisco to Canadian immigrant parents, Auston Ross Scott and Myrtle B. McDonald. He went to St. James Elementary School and graduated from Riordan High School in 1952.
In 1961, Scotty married the love of his life, Patricia Hayes. They lived in Glen Park and then moved to San Bruno where they raised two daughters. Patti pre-deceased Scotty in 2000. Scotty moved to Sonoma in 2011, loved living in his ‘sandbox’ in Chantarelle, and was delighted to spend his last years with very dear, local friends and family.
Besides being a land surveyor for the City and County of San Francisco, he was known for his love of music. He was an entertainer, and a big part of his life was spent playing the piano and singing. He played at The Monkey Inn, The Red Garter, Squaw Valley, The Shadow Box, and The Carriage House. He also played parties and events at St Finn Barr’s Church, Riordan High School, at his home, and at many friends’ homes. He was a car enthusiast and a Francophile, and he cherished his grandchildren both here and abroad.
The family will be celebrating his life privately and his interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
