Michael Radtke, 69, passed away suddenly May 14, 2021. Born to Conrad J. and Anne (Henzel) Radtke, Michael was raised in New Jersey where he graduated with bachelor and master degrees from Montclair State University. It was there he met many life long musician friends and together formed Mad Fables with their unique sound. Michael was a talented musician and songwriter, eventually settling in California where he produced several CD’s of his music and managed several websites related to his music career. Michael had a prolific digital life; he worked as a skilled computer programmer for decades and combined his love of music to create animated shorts as well. His sense of humor was as infectious as his smile was broad. Michael was adventurous and enjoyed friendships through a songwriter workshop, hiking, and traveling. He had a curious intellect and was fascinated by genealogy, loved reading and difficult crossword puzzles. To know Michael is to know there are not enough words to describe this gentle, caring man and his zest for life.
He is predeceased by his parents and brother Bruce Radtke and leaves behind his siblings Barbara A. Radtke (MA), Steve Radtke and his wife Rondi Radtke (MA), and Therese R. McCombe and her husband William (RI) along with nephews and a niece.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Michael's family prefers Memorial Contributions be made in his name to the charity of your choice.
