Loretta Mae (Romick) Glenn

Loretta Mae Glenn, age 91, died peacefully at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 25, 2017, in Sonoma, California, where she resided for the last 8-1/2 years. She was born May 29, 1925, in Berkeley, California, to Rose and Nicholas Romick, and had one brother, Kenneth Romick, all of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by her three children, Nicola Raadsma and spouse, Jean Rhea of Sonoma, Carla Tappero and husband of White City, Oregon, and John Spriggs of El Cerrito, along with nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Aurora, Simon, John, Joseph, Johannes, Leah, Rachel, Nicolas, James, Leah, and Theo.

Loretta was a longtime resident of the Bay Area. She grew up in Berkeley and moved to El Cerrito in her 20s, where she and her husband built a home on a hill overlooking the bay. Loretta loved her home. She raised her family there while commuting to San Francisco, where she worked for Chevron in their property tax department until retirement.

Loretta loved living in the Bay Area for all of its diversity and beauty. She was always the happiest in the company of good friends, old and new, and both close and extended family. She was very fortunate to be surrounded by people that she loved and who loved her all of her life.

Music and dancing were her passions. She also had a great love of the outdoors and learning, all of which she passed on to her children.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass and Celebration of her life on Monday, May 1, 2017, at St. Francis Solano Catholic Church, 469 3rd St W., Sonoma, CA, at 10:00 AM.

Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA.
