Kirsten Jaeger Obituary

Kirsten Elisabeth Jaeger was born on June 12, 1938 in Copenhagen, Denmark.  Kirsten had two older sisters, Alite, who still lives in Denmark and Grethe and a younger brother Preben who preceded her in death.  Kirsten and her siblings were raised in a children’s home for many years due to the ill health of her mother.

Kirsten was educated in Denmark and took courses specializing in healthcare.  In 1962 she came to California and lived in San Rafael while working at the Aldersly Danish Retirement Home.  Kirsten eventually became a Licensed Vocational Nurse.

At the age of 26, Kirsten fell in love and married Erik Jaeger (who preceded her in death in 1995).  On August 23, 1965, Kirsten gave birth to a handsome baby boy, Flemming Miguel Jaeger who became the love and focus of her life.

In 1969 Kirsten moved to Sonoma with her young son.  Shortly after, she decided to study the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses whom she met through her work in Marin.  Even though her schedule was very full, she kept up her cherished Bible study and was baptized in the spring of 1971.  Since then, she has always been an important member of the Glen Ellen Congregation, a wonderful Sister, Mother, Grandma, Auntie, and Friend to so many.  She has touched the lives of those she worshiped with, worked and cared for.  To say that she was generous and self-sacrificing would be an understatement.

As we endeavor to cope with the loss of our dear Kirsten, it will help to focus on what gave her strength and ability to live her life as she did.  Kirsten didn’t just cope with years of illness and hardships, she thrived.  She was truly a happy person with a very positive outlook and she rarely complained.  What made this possible?  It was her deep faith and love for Jehovah.

She wholeheartedly put her trust in Jehovah God and the truths found in his Word, the Bible.  Kirsten would often reflect on the promises of perfect life and health for her and Flemming, a life free of pain and suffering for everyone.  (Psalm 37:11; Revelation 21:4) Yes, it was her cherished faith that she loved to share with others that always helped her to remember that the “Real Life” was “Just Around the Corner”. (1 Timothy 6:19)
