Judy Archer Obituary

Judy, Juby, Jula, Jude, sister, aunt, cousin, grandma and friend were all things that she was but to me she was Mom.
She was my rock. My best friend. My biggest fan and my hero.
On February 10th 2019 at 630 pm she then became my guardian angel.
On July 22, 1950 Mary and Manuel Salinas met their blue eyed baby girl for the first time and brought her home to Salinas, Ca.  Growing up with Muscular Dystrophy Judy experienced surgery’s and a most hated body cast. Being surrounded by her five siblings she always had the extra help she needed. Kathy Tejeda, Manuel Salinas II, Charles Salinas, Linda Olsen and Anthony Salinas all contributed to the love and care she received to her making it to the age of 68.
While living in Monterey, Ca she met her best friend of 49 years Patricia Wineman. She also met the man she married and traveled with to live in Korea and Virginia, Melvin Archer Jr.
Upon her divorce Judy embarked on a whole new adventure and that was being a single mom and moving to Sonoma Valley, Ca to be near her family. She was a natural from the day her only daughter Heather Dawn Archer was born. She  was always made sure that little girl never went without even if it meant Judy did. Being the mom that played Barbies, attended PTA meetings, sat in on homework duty, all while still having the time to still do the all the arts n crafts she loved. Judy didn’t think she could love anyone else as much her daughter, until her grandson, Bradley J Pico, was born. During the later periods of her life Judy could be found crocheting hats to donate, talking for hours on the phone with her daughter, or watching her soap operas on TV. Sadly this past year, Judy’s health declined so much she moved into a nursing facility in Grass Valley, where she slowly lost her battle to Muscular Dystrophy. For everyone that knew Judy, they knew she was stubborn, persistent and strong willed. She fought to the end that this disease was not going to take her easily. Judy went to heaven, Judy left us that Sunday night with her sister Linda and brother Charles at her side. She will be missed but her memories will forever be talked about.
