John Seller Obituary

A resident of Sonoma for five decades, John Seller passed away January 28 at the age of 98.  Born in 1922 in Unalaska, Alaska, John was the youngest son of Katherine Dyakanoff Seller, a Native Aleut educator, and Harry Seller, an English-American photographer and educator.  After leaving Alaska in his teens, John was part of the Hoover Dam construction crew; he later served in the Army during WWII, stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany.  He married Janeth Seller in 1962 and remained with her until her death in 2008; they relocated to Glen Ellen from San Francisco in 1972.  A prolific reader and incurable curmudgeon, John was a resident at Cogir Assisted Living Facility in Sonoma.  John is survived by his sister, Betty Blalock of Long Beach, CA; his daughter, Maureen Seller and her wife Martha Young of Lisbon Maine; his son Harry Seller and his wife Megan Seller of Glen Ellen, CA, and his granddaughters Madelyn and Sophia Seller of Glen Ellen.  Due to COVID concerns, no service will be held at this time.
