John Hernandez Obituary

John was born in New York City to Gonzalo and Inés Hernández. Spanish was spoken at home.  His international consumer products sales and marketing career took him to Colombia where he met Margarita Sanchez, a young widow with two daughters.  They married in 1959 and lived in Costa Rica, Chile, Brazil as well as Massachusetts, North Carolina, Minnesota and California.  Creekside Village in Sonoma was their home for 30 years where John was active in the community and managed a tech recruiting firm.  His final move was to Georgetown, Texas to live with his daughter Roxanne, son in law Brian and grandchildren Adam and Veronica Coyne.

John was an avid audiobook and music fan; he was a methodical planner who enjoyed traveling; he was a true gourmet, and he was known to challenge people with his wit.  He is survived by daughters Beatriz Weivoda, Cristina Casanovas and Roxanne Hernandez Coyne, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  He passed away in Georgetown, TX.    Memorial services are scheduled for January 14, 12 Noon at St. Francis Solano Church in Sonoma.  He will be laid to rest at Mountain Cemetery next to his beloved Margarita.
