Gloria (Semeza) Del Carlo was born and raised in San Francisco in 1925 and graduated from Balboa High School. She married her sweetheart George Del Carlo when they were both 18 years old. Just 2 weeks later George, who had just volunteered with the US Coast Guard as a Seaman, had to go to serve during WWII. When he returned after the war, Gloria and George started their family and had their sons, Don and Steve and the couple settled in San Francisco.
Gloria and George moved to Sonoma when the boys were teenagers and never looked back. She loved her life in Sonoma! She loved her job at Wells Fargo Bank where she worked as a teller for 15 years and also worked at McCullah’s.
Gloria was an excellent cook and loved entertaining in her home where she would cook up a feast for any and all friends and relatives who dropped by on weekends. She volunteered at The Church Mouse, attended mass every week at St Francis Solano and was often seen walking the Sonoma bike path with friends.
Gloria is preceded in death by her son Steven, husband George and sisters, Jean Conway and Katherine Garabaldi. She is survived by her son Don, daughter-in-law Katherine, her grandchildren Matthew, Dawnmarie Andrade and Adam, her grand daughter in law, Jennifer Jung Del Carlo her step grandchildren Alex Grassi and Alene Latimer and her great grandchildren Gianna Andrade, Cole Del Carlo and Jax Del Carlo and Mary Latimer
