Georgia was born on December 19, 1934 in Solo, Missouri, to George and Veva Gourley. In 1952 Georgia married the love of her life, The Late Loren Lester Hale Jr. They would have celebrated their 73rd anniversary on June 29, 2025.
Loren and Georgia moved to California in 1955 when Loren began his trade in construction and Georgia was a child caregiver which she did most of her life. She also had brief times of working in warehouse shipping and receiving.
Georgia was a woman of faith and an active member of the Nazarene Church where she served as a board member, Sunday school teacher and the church organist. Georgia loved music and started playing the piano at an early age. She not only played for the church, but she played for many choirs, quartets and trios throughout her life. She also sung on the radio with a trio made up of two of her cousins and herself in Missouri in her early teens. Georgia also loved taking care of children, teaching the Bible and camping with her family. She was a gentle soul who was a devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed. Georgia is survived by her Daughter Janet Hale, Son James (Jolene) Hale, Son Mark (the late Kimberly) Hale, Grandchildren: Garrett (Robyn) Hale, Brandon (Kaela) Hale, Carina (Harrison) Walraven, Alexus Hale, Brooklynne (Mike) Morarity and Colby Hale. Great Grandchildren: Navy Morarity and Oliver Hale all of Petaluma, California. She is also survived by her brother David (Darlene) Gourley of Houston, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, George and Veva Gourley of Houston, Missouri, and brothers Charles Perry, Solo, Missouri, Eldon (Joanne) Gourley Rolla, Missouri and Dean Gourley of Oakland, California.
A graveside service will be held at Cypress Hill Memorial Park, 430 Magnolia Avenue, Petaluma, California 94952, August 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions in her name to be made to Petaluma Hillside Nazarene church, 2689 Old Adobe Rd., Petaluma, CA 94954.
