Frances Marie Gemini

Frances Marie Gemini was born on November 9, 1922 and passed away peacefully on September 5, 2019 at the age of 96. She was raised in Tomales, CA, with her two sisters Evelyn and Anne. Her parents Ralph and Minnie Bassett were ranchers in Tomales where she attended grammar school and graduated high school in 1942, where she met her late husband Bill Gemini Sr. They moved to Glen Ellen where they raised a family and ran a music and appliance store called Gemini’s. Frances’s passions were gardening, baking, knitting, reading, fishing, playing the piano, and spending time with her dogs. She was a kind, giving, and loving person.

She is survived by her children Bill Gemini Jr., Linda Geshell, Emily McAuliffe, Nadine Cuellar, Melodee Vandeman, and Leon Gemini.

Frances was also the grandmother of Susan, Dan, Christopher, Jasmine, and Leann Gemini, Kevin Geshell, Kristy DeSimone, Melissa Ross, William Chaty, Maria Tate, Steven Gerdlund, and Jacqueline Vandeman.

In addition, she was much loved by her great-grandchildren Chanel, Corina, and Cara Gemini, Gianna and Lyla DeSimone, Kenya Brown, David and Elyah Tuyee, Jordan, Sabrina, and Cylina Chaty, Ethan and Benjamin Tate, and Hennessy Gerdlund.

A viewing will be held on September 19, 2019 from 9:30 to 11am, followed by a funeral service at 11am, at Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa Street, Sonoma. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm at the Spring Hill Estate, 3871 Tomales Petaluma Road, Tomales. Please RSVP to Leann at (530) 355-9056 for the Celebration of Life.
