Emanuel Borg

Emanuel Borg died peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 92.  Emanuel was born in Malta, Europe and grew up on a farm fostering a life-long love of gardening.  He endured World War II at a formative age and immigrated to the United States when 18 seeking a better life. 

Emanuel had the great fortune of meeting Doris who would be his wife for 66 years.  Together they worked hard and raised 3 boys and a daughter.  Emanuel and Doris retired in Sonoma and were active in the St. Francis Solano Church community.  Emanuel was a member of the Knights of Columbus. 

Emanuel will always be known for his warmth, story-telling and non-stop planting, growing and harvesting.  Emanuel put his faith in God throughout his life and as he approached death.  He is already missed.

In addition to his wife and children, Emanuel is survived by 2 grandchildren, a brother in Malta, in-laws in Malta, Australia, and in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as many nieces and nephews locally, and in Malta, Canada, and Australia all of whom meant so much to him.

Visitation is available on July 11th starting at 5pm at Duggan’s Mission Chapel in Sonoma followed by a Rosary at 6pm.  The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 am on July 12th at St. Francis Solano Church followed by interment at St. Francis Solano Cemetery.  Flowers will be received at Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 West Napa Street, Sonoma, CA  95476.
