Doris Mae Peterson (née Dickinson) was born January 10, 1929. The youngest of three children, Doris was the daughter Seth and Eva Dickinson had always wanted. She was raised in Holyoke Massachusetts. When Doris was 16 years old she married Lawrence “ Pete” Peterson.
In 1948 the couple moved to Sonoma where they built their ranch style home in the country. Together, Doris and Pete had many adventures as they traveled all over the world. In addition to traveling, Doris enjoyed time with her friends and loved ones, fashion, painting, and chocolate.
In 1967, the Petersons opened Pete’s Electric on the Sonoma square. They ran their business there for nearly 20 years.
Over the years, Doris and Pete had four children: Lawrence Peterson, Jr.; Diana Peterson- Williams; Brian Peterson; and Heidi Peterson-Diamantini as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Doris passed away peacefully on September 28, 2020 at the age of 91. Though sorely missed by her surviving family, she was reunited in heaven with her husband, eldest daughter, and both sons.
