Don C. Farris of Sonoma CA passed on January 30, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Born to Ruth and Ross Farris November 12, 1933 in Fresno, CA, Don attended public school and graduated from Fresno State University. An avid baseball player, Don played varsity ball at college and semi pro ball after graduation. Don married his beautiful bride September 10, 1955 and set off for Spence Air Base in Moultrie GA and Vance Air Force Base, Enid OK for US Air Force pilot training. After entering the reserves, Don was called back to active duty to update currency in the C-119 in preparation for the impending Cuban Missile Crisis. After separating from the Air Force with the rank of Captain, he eventually took a job at McGraw Hill publishing where he excelled as an advertising executive for many years. After amassing a great deal of experience, he started his own advertising sales business, Don C. Farris, Inc. before retiring in 1998. Don and his wife spent their retired life together in the beautiful community of Creekside in Sonoma CA. Don served the homeowners association in several capacities, most notable as president of the board, a member of the social committee and house co-chair as well as the ad hoc creek committee. Don’s positive influence on the Creekside community will be greatly missed.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Beth Ann Farris; his three children Diane Farris, Laurie Farris and Andy Farris, all of whom were at his bedside when he passed . He is also survived by three grandchildren - Megan, Aghiles, and Zidane.
Don’s ashes were scattered at his favorite spot to RV and visit, Bodega Bay CA. While no services will be held, please make a donation to https://hospicebythebay.org as Don made contributions to the organization annually.
