Maria Dolores "Lola" McEntee 1974 – 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Dolores McEntee, lovingly known as Lola, at the age of 50. Born in Mexico, Dolores moved to Sonoma, California, at the age of five and called it home for most of her life. A proud graduate of Sonoma Valley High School’s Class of 1992, she built a life filled with love, dedication, and adventure.
In 1999, Dolores married the love of her life, Michael McEntee, and together they raised their two beautiful daughters, Kiana and Talaina. She was a loving and devoted mother, always active in their lives as a sports enthusiast, co-coach, and their biggest fan.
Dolores had a passion for working with children and made a lasting impact as a paraprofessional at an elementary school in Oklahoma and as an instructional assistant at Sassarini School in Sonoma. She was also recognized as Employee of the Year at the Sonoma Index-Tribune during her time there.
She loved cooking, playing board games, watching movies—especially superhero films—and embarking on road trips. Dolores embraced adventure and cherished every moment spent with her family. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; daughters, Kiana and Talaina; her parents, Ofelia and José Chávez; and her siblings, Miguel Chávez, Maria Tinajero, Alma Chávez, Juan Chávez, Agustin Chávez, and Lucia Chávez-Goodman, and many nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law.
Dolores was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her light and love touched many, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
A viewing for family and friends will be held at Duggans Mission Chapel, 525 W Napat St., Sonoma from 3:00-6:00 PM on Monday March 17th.
Mass will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Sonoma on Tuesday March 18th, at 11:30 AM, followed by a reception at Heritage House, 197 W Verano Ave, Sonoma from 1:00-4:00 PM.
In memory of Dolores' spirit, please wear cheerful attire.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to TLC Child and Family Services, 1800 Hwy 116 N, Sebastopol, CA, 95472.
Rest in peace, Lola. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
