Delores Buttke Perry Obituary

Delores was born to James and Grace (Abelman) Morrell in Rapid City, SD and raised in Fargo and Buffalo, ND. She was predeceased by husbands Donald O. Buttke and George Perry, and siblings Wally, Jean and Clifford. She is survived by her sister, Mabel (Morrell) Christmann. With Donny and their children Donita, Donald Jr. (Skip) and Doug, she moved to Petaluma, California, where Donna and David were born. They were partners in the Petaluma Garbage Company until Donny’s death, which left her widowed with 5 young children. Delores became a psychiatric technician and worked at Sonoma Developmental Center until her retirement.

Delores was the loving and beloved mother of Donita Buttke Swingle (Matt), Donald Buttke Jr. (Daveen),  Doug Buttke (Judy Corda), Donna Buttke Whitney (Earl), and David Buttke (Valerie Nolan). She was the proud grandmother of and covered her walls with photos of Clarette Buttke McDonald, Glen Buttke, Nick Buttke, and the late Danny Buttke; Amie Buttke Stokes Seigenthaler, Jennifer Buttke Duelgue and Donnie Buttke; Stacey Whitney Heuer; Brittany Swingle Smart and Brooke Swingle; and Joshua Buttke and Melissa Buttke. These 12 also gave her great grandchildren: Danny and Ryan McDonald; Nick, Lane, Mason and Brody Buttke; Elijah and Nyomi Stokes; Navy Duelgue; Holly and Emily Buttke; Ella and Edie Heuer; and Charlotte and Finn Smart, whose adventures were enjoyed and marveled over. Delores was Aunt DeeDee to many nieces and nephews who often played and stayed at the family home in Petaluma.

Delores was a champion bowler for many years, loved camping and fishing, and during her retirement in Nevada with husband George, driving around and exploring.  She enjoyed a variety of needlework, making many beautiful pieces over the years. She spent her last years in Sonoma in the loving care of her daughter Donna. At Donna’s, Delores enjoyed family visits and celebrations, beating us at card games and was an avid sports fan. She loved her dog who is now living his best life as Charlie the ranch dog on Nick and Amber Buttke’s dairy. Delores was surrounded by family in her final days and will be celebrated and honored by her loved ones.
