It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dale David Strand an Excavating contractor and long time resident of Sonoma, California. Dale passed away unexpectedly at home in his sleep on August 13, 2021.
Dale was born at Webster, South Dakota on May 22, 1961. His parents David and Alice moved to Sonoma, California in 1972. Dale graduated from Sonoma Valley High School, began working with his family Excavating business in 1982 and eventually started his own Excavating company.
Dale is survived by his mother Alice Strand; his brothers Daryl and Darren Strand; his sisters Brenda McCahon and Bonnie Strand; his sons Joseph and Jeremy Strand; daughter Crystal Truesdale; his grandchildren Jocelyn, Jacquelyn, Jackson, and Barbarajean Strand; Grayson and Tavia Truesdale. Dale is predeceased by his father David Strand.
Dale was a devoted son, grandson, father, father-in-law, and an exceptional grandfather! He enjoyed fishing, excavating, working and spending time with his grandchildren, friends, and family. Dale was always good for a joke, conversation, and always available to help if you were in need of it. There are no words to describe the pain and emptiness we all feel with Dale’s passing. He will eternally be missed. Selfless, and adored by many Dale will remain forever in our hearts with the memories he provided us all. Always...
There will be a memorial service to celebrate Dale’s life on Saturday October 16, 2021 at the Moose Lodge on Broadway in Sonoma.
