Benjamin Pedranzini Obituary

Benjamin “Ben” Pedranzini passed away peacefully at Sonoma Valley Hospital on March 6, 2020 with his devoted wife Rosemarie by his side.   Ben was born May 17, 1933 on the family chicken ranch on Broadway in Sonoma to Maria and Lorenzo Pedranzini.  He was a graduate of Sonoma High School in 1952.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving his country for four years during the Korean conflict.   After the Navy, he worked for the County of Sonoma Road Department for 40 years.  He started with the road department shoveling hot asphalt and worked his way up to a backhoe operator until retiring in 1995.   He was inducted into the SVHS Dragon Hall of Fame in 2012 for Football.

A proud member of the Native Sons of the Golden West Parlor # 111 , Sons of Italy, and the Moose Lodge.

Always willing to help anyone in need, he enjoyed woodworking and did beautiful work.  Many times, if you admired his wood work, he’d gift it to you.  He could fix anything, and always enjoyed a trip to the hardware store.  Ben was a very quiet, kind and caring man. He was a hard worker. He always put his family and others before himself.   He never said a bad word about anyone.

Ben is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Rosemarie, his loving daughter Roxanne and wonderful son-in-law Rob, and his brother-in-law James Karabochos.

Per Ben’s wishes no services will be held and inurnment will be private.

Memorial contributions in Ben’s name may be made to the Native Sons of the Golden West Parlor #111, P.O. Box 111, Sonoma, CA 95476 or to a charity of your choice.
