ALEXANDER MILOTICH Obituary

Alexander Anthony Milotich of Glen Ellen, CA, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026 at age 86. Al was born in Philadelphia to Anna and Anthony Milotich and he attended Northeast Catholic School. He graduated from Villanova University in 1961 and spent five years as a navy pilot flying the S-2 anti-submarine aircraft. He left active duty in 1966 to become a pilot with United Airlines, where he flew for 33 years. After obtaining an MBA from University of San Francisco in 1975 and continuing in the naval reserves until 1989, Al retired from United in 1999. He loved flying and he often talked about how lucky he was to enjoy his job so much. Al was always smiling, and he loved to joke and laugh. He was an eternal optimist and he made everything fun. He was an avid tennis player, golfer, and skier, and he also enjoyed watching football and professional tennis. He was very handy and a do-it-yourself kind of guy because “why pay for something you can do yourself?” Al loved all types of games, especially cards, and listening to his commentary throughout a game made it even more fun. He enjoyed the ocean (especially at Napili, Maui and the New Jersey shore), camping, and being outside in nature. He took great pleasure in cooking a nice meal to share with people he cared about. Al was devoted to his family, and one of his mantras was “family is the most important thing.” He also treasured his friends. Al is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Jane; children Kristin (Alex) Makarewycz, Stephen Milotich, Catherine McAndrews, and Michael (Heather) Milotich; stepchildren Richard Brown, Tracy (David) Barsotti, and Wyatt (Diane) Brown; 12 grandchildren; and his sisters Nives Milotich and Peg Martin. He is predeceased in death by his first wife Sue and his younger brother Fran. A celebration of life service will be held at Travis Marina at Fort Baker in Sausalito on Saturday, March 28, at 11:00 AM.
