Wilma McNair, of Glen Ellen, passed away December 4, 2017, only 5 days prior to her 95th birthday.

Wilma was born December 9, 1922, in Iowa City, Iowa, to T.J and Cecil (Hethcote) Simons, one of 11 children. She has been a resident of Glen Ellen, Calif., since 1986 when she and her husband Andrew McNair moved to the family home on Warm Springs Road. She remained at that residence alone after "Andy" passed away in 1997.

She loved living in a semi-country setting where she could chop nuts to feed the squirrels that would come to visit every morning on her back deck, or feed a covey of quail that would parade their little family down her driveway, chop up snowball cupcakes for the raccoons that made daily visits and would bring their babies to "present" them to her. She found that they like the pink snowballs with chocolate cake inside the best, so she made sure she had plenty on hand to keep her "little animal" families happy. She also took care of a mother deer with twin fawns with fresh apples, or the turkey buzzards that lived in the top of the redwood trees that lined the back of her property, a family of foxes and even a couple of skunks.

Wilma is survived by her two daugthters, Barbara Jean (Wallace) Woodburn, her family Sean David Woodburn, Erin (Michele) Woodburn and grandson Sean Robert Woodburn, Dixie Lee (Wallace) Hall, her family Stephen (Leslie) Hall, Abigail Mungle and Jennifer Hall, Susan Hall her daughters Angela (Christoper) Rodrigues, Carson Tallman and Kylie Rodrigues, Kristi Huckabee, James Hall, David Hall and his daughter Victoria Hall, brothers Jack (Betty) Simons, Lloyd Simons, sisters Maxine Chamberlin, Betty Willits, Rita (Herb) Burnap and Roma (Pat) Simons, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Andrew, brothers Graydon and Hubert, sisters Constance and Dixie, grandson Michael Hall, and great-grandchildren Danny Trevino and Synthia Trevino.
