Roger Weil Obituary

With affection, love, and peace Roger Weil passed away in his sleep on February 12th, 2019. Roger will always be remembered for his infinite knowledge, generosity and unconditional love. He is survived by his loving children Ray Weil (Leah), Ashley Weil (Clayton), and his cherished grandchildren Addison and Roger "Harrison" Weil. He is also survived by his sisters Carol Wickland, Mary Whippo, and Phyllis Barnett. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond John and Marguerette "Marge" Weil, and his loving wife Shirley "Kelly" Weil.
Roger was born in Oakland on December 20th, 1948 and raised in Sonoma Valley. He graduated SVHS in 1967 and started working at 15 years old as a machinist. He attended SRJC for two years but after outwitting his college professors, he started his own machine business in 1972. He proudly worked for decades along side his father and then his son. He will be remembered as a local business owner of 47 years, constantly providing for his beloved family.
Roger was proudly inducted as an all star athlete into the SVHS sports Hall of Fame. He loved all sorts of music,  gardening, and sharing his bounty, spending hours in his garden and at his favorite fishing holes. Roger loved everything related to space and nature. He loved a good laugh and prank. He constantly encouraged his family to, "go for it" and live life to the fullest.
A visitation will be held at Duggan's Mission Chapel on Thursday February 28th, 2019 from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers please forward memorial donations to The Sonoma Valley Boosters Club.
