Robert Cole was born in Philadelphia PA on July 31, 1944.  He passed away in Sonoma, CA on July 28, 2017.

Robert served in the US Navy as a Spanish Intel Analyst, and graduated from University of Dayton with degrees in Philosophy and Psychology.  He worked in a variety of fields: Psych Tech, Instructor, Social Worker, and the career of choice: working with horses at farms and the race track.  A 13 year, stage 4 cancer survivor, Robert gave back by spending hours of volunteer time with the American Cancer Society making use of his knowledge of Spanish to record a Spanish Language TV Promotion for ACS’s “Road To Recovery” Transportation Service. Additionally, he scheduled rides and drove other cancer patients to medical appointments.  Robert loved cooking, rooting for the SF Giants, and music.

Robert is survived by his wife Laurie (Knutsen) Cole; their children Benjamin and David Cole, and his children from a previous marriage, Zachary Agan-Cole, and Megan (Agan-Cole) Sanders, her husband Dave and their children Riley and Jacob. Robert was very much looking forward to welcoming Jessica Lawrence into the family on Ben and Jessica’s wedding day, Aug. 5t 2017.

Robert was the son of William and Beatrice Cole (deceased), and is also survived by his siblings Michael Cole, Judy Bridges, Virginia Pinschmidt, and Karen Hendricks, their children’s children, - more than 70 family members.
