Martin “Bruce” Coleman
Born December 28, 1939, in Portola, California
Died May 3, 2018, in Sonoma, California
Bruce was a second-generation meat cutter and a member of the UFCW Local 101. He worked cutting meat for over 40 years in Sonoma County for various markets, including Purity, Roger Wilco, and Carl’s Market in Petaluma.
He spent more than 10 years in the South Pacific sailing with his brother, Don, and chartering boats around the Marshall Islands, including Enewetak, Kwajalein, and the Island of Tonga.
Bruce is survived by his brother, Don; sister Marlyn; loving daughters Lisa Coleman and Shon El Coleman; grandchildren Cassidy Emerson, Christine McBride, and Timothy McBride Jr.; great-grandson Brice Emerson; and many nieces and nephews who adoringly called him “Uncle Booty.”
