Margaret Joyce Johnson

Margaret Joyce Johnson, 88 of Sonoma sadly passed away on July 19, 2018.

Margaret was born in Aptos, Santa Cruz County, to Helen and Frank Larsen on August 17, 1929. She married Nathan Johnson on August 12, 1951 in San Jose. She had graduated from San Jose State University. She worked as a 1st grade teacher at Prestwood Elementary School, for 25 years. One of her proudest teaching moments was when she had received the Superintendent's Award for teacher of the year for the 1983-1984 school year. She loved to garden and loved to travel with her husband, children and family. Some of the places she traveled to was Hawaii, England, Germany, many national parks, camping in Yosemite, and camping all over Europe. She was involved with FISH, volunteered as an escort at Sonoma Valley Hospital every Friday, she loved working with the Women's Society at church, she played in the church bells choir for 16 years. 

Margaret is preceded by her husband Nathan Johnson, her daughter Pamela Johnson-Wilson, her parents Helen and Frank Larsen, and brother Frank Larsen. 
Margaret is survived by her children Gary Johnson, (Cyndi), Dennis Johnson, her sisters Jacquie Lloyd and Marilyn Urbach, her grandchildren Seana Johnson-Hall, Anthony Johnson, Scott Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Brian Johnson, Erin Wilson-Harrington, Bryan Wilson, Richard Wilson, Clinton Wilson, and her great grandchildren Melanie, Megan, Christopher, Colin, Pam, Kayla, Emma, Jayden, Riley, William, Whitney, Jacob, Rebecca and Nathan.  Margaret is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Tim, Jody, John, Nancy, Jeff, David and Maura.

Friends and Family are invited to attend the Memorial Services, Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, at 109 Patten Street, Sonoma, CA 95476.
