MOROVICH, Joe – Loyal husband, an amazing son, a dedicated father, an admired Dida, a loving great-grandfather, a caring uncle, a wonderful brother-in-law, and a compassionate friend. On Sunday, July 15, 2018, God called upon his angels to bring Joe Morovich home after successfully completing his kingdom. He passed away peacefully in his Sonoma home with his family by his side . Joe was born to Skolastika and Joe Morovich on August 14, 1933 in Zman, Croatia. Because of the war in Europe, and his father wanting a better life for his loved ones, the family was separated.
In November of 1952, Joe arrived in San Pedro, California and was reunited with his Father, Mother, and Sister. Deciding he needed to gain an American education, he enrolled in San Pedro High School. Joe then moved to Northern California and enrolled in SF City College and continued his education at the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied Mechanical Engineering.
Joe met his future bride Angie Scoccia at a local Italian dance in San Francisco. Those two graced many dance floors with some of the best foot work. Joe and Angie married November 24, 1956. Joe worked many jobs to build a nice life for his family of four children.
Joe and Angie purchased their first home in San Bruno in 1959 and lived there 16 years. Joe began a lifelong career with Sears and Roebuck in 1957. In 1975 they decided to move their family to Sonoma, CA. Joe and Angie knew they wanted to make this their home, and he resided there until his passing.
