Jane Malchow, a fourth generation California, passed away in her Santa Rosa home, May 31, with her daughters by her side. She died of lung cancer at the age of 84.
Born in San Francisco, November 20, 1934 to Marie (Nauman) and Herbert Fischbeck. Jane was a graduate of Sonoma High School and College of the Pacific (University of Pacific) in Stockton.
Jane married her Sonoma High School sweetheart, Bruno Fritz Malchow in 1957, and were married 52 wonderful years. Together they traveled throughout the world and resided in Santa Rosa for over 60 years. Bruno’s ashes will be interred with Jane at Mountain Cemetery in Sonoma, CA.
Jane was a Home Economics teacher at Santa Rosa High and Santa Rosa Jr College. She was a natural born teacher with the ability to impart incentive and integrity. A fabulous seamstress, often making her clothes and her daughters.
Jane was a great homemaker, loved to entertaining and will be remembered for her many parties. She enjoyed her bridge club, which played monthly for years, as well as gardening and eating her home-grown, fresh vegetables. Always sharp-witted and known for her spunk, Jane looked forward to Martini lunches, skinny dipping and a good (dirty) joke! If you met her, you would not of forgotten her!
She was preceded in death by her husband Bruno, sister Suzanne Dubs and is survived by her daughters, Laura Fuson (Duck) and Michele Malchow.
No funeral services but a celebration of her life will be announced. 775-843-6409
