James McVeigh Obituary

James Peter McVeigh passed away on November 20th, after a courageous battle against complications of open-heart surgery.  He was born and raised in Niagara Falls Canada.  The family moved to Michigan where he met his wife, Lois, together they had two children Mark and Lisa.  Their life together took them to Illinois, Minnesota and finally to Sonoma in 1978.  Jim’s greatest joys came from his family, travel with his wife, watching his kids play sports and most recently watching his grandsons sporting activities.  He enjoyed a long career as a sales executive traveling the states and finding the best eateries in the country.   He had a unique passion for cars he bought, sold and talked cars with anyone he met.

Jim is survived by his wife Lois, son Mark, daughter-in-law Jane, grandson Brett, daughter Lisa, son-in-law Bob, grandsons Luke and Max.  His brother Bob, sister-in-law Beth, sister Ruthie, brother-in-law Jim. Nieces and Nephews, Debbie, Mike, Kellie, Erin and Katie. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Dorothy.

In lieu of flower, donations may be made to the Joe Crowley Endowed Scholarship  or Friends in Sonoma Helping (FISH). A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
