Jacqueline Brackett Van Wallinga, 72, of Sonoma, CA passed away at home on August 10, 2018 after a 2-year battle with ovarian cancer.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Jerry Van Wallinga, and daughters Michele, Stephanie and Danielle. Jacqueline was a proud and loving “Nonnie” to her 7 grandchildren. Her career included 22 years of service at the Bank of America in Marin, working in various positions. Over the last 15 years, she worked locally at North Bay Eye Associates, formerly the office of Dr. Dixon and Dr. Raaka. Although she was an avid reader, gardener, and decorator, Jacqueline’s favorite creative endeavor was attending a crochet group called “The Hookers” with her two best childhood friends (the Carols). Jacqueline is most celebrated for her delicious, homemade Italian cuisine, which she frequently shared at large home gatherings. She was a genuine, caring, thoughtful lady who cherished all her friendships.
Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life, Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hannah Boys Center, 17000 Arnold Drive, Sonoma, CA 95476. Memorial contributions can be made in Jacqueline’s name to Hospice by the Bay, Sonoma, or Pets Lifeline.
