After an amazing 97 years, our mother Evelyn, our 'Nana',  passed away peacefully after spending 18 months In a wonderful care facility in Kenwood.
Evelyn was born and raised in Queensland, Australia. It was in Australia that she met and married our father, her American husband, Glen B. Kirkpatrick, during World War II. She traveled to the United States in 1946 with her 15-month-old son, Glenn, and settled in Oakland with her husband. Later they moved to Hayward where she and her husband raised three children, Glenn, Brad and Lorie. In 1997 she settled in Sonoma, where she resided for 20 years and was an integral part of her family's lives. If she could, she never missed a school event, talent show, graduation, Broadway Bound Kids performance, sports event, or birthday!
As well as her three children, she is survived by seven loving grandchildren (Jeanine, Allyson, Beth, Jason, Vincent, Ashley, Alissa) and eight loving great-grandchildren (Tommy, Aaron, Joshua, Sam, Ciera, Dylan, Zoe, Zachary).
Evelyn occupied her time with quilting, cross-stitch and sewing; she also loved to travel. But her greatest love was really for all of her family. She has always been known in our family as one of the kindest and most loving, generous Nana's that anybody could ever have. She had an ability to reach out to everybody. We could all talk to her about anything in our lives. She made everything better.
She will be missed for her beautiful graciousness by her family and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Temelec Hall at 12 noon on Saturday, January 13th, 2018, 220 Temelec Circle, Sonoma, California.
In lieu of flowers, please give a donation to the charity of your choice.
