Doris Ann Audiss

Doris A. Troxell Audiss “Nana” passed away on September 3, 2018 at her home in Sonoma, CA at the age of 96 years.  Nana was born February 4, 1922 in Armour SD.  She came to the Sonoma Valley in 1943 with her husband Bill and their three children.  The early years were spent helping her husband in the dairy business in Sonoma County, but she also was a licensed medical assistant and X-ray technician working for El Rose medical group in Petaluma for 18 years.  She and Bill owned and operated Audiss Jeanery in the Sonoma Marketplace for 10 years.  Nana loved gardening taking much joy from her beautiful yard and baking pies that she said should be eaten for breakfast, and wedding cakes made for family and many friends.  Her door was always open for a hot meal and a warm bed with a lecture if needed but always with love.  For the last 20 years her constant companions were her dogs who she loved deeply.  Nana’s hope was the she had somehow made a positive impact in someone’s life, and indeed she did.  Nana is preceded in death and goes to be with her husband William “Bill” Audiss, her daughters Judith Audiss Simonds and Connie Audiss Reed, her grandchildren, Anthony “Tony” Carafa, Cindi Diekmann Frost and Dianne Audiss.  She is survived by her 3 children, Larry Audiss (Barbara), Sharon “Sherry” Audiss Coester (Jan) and William “Billy” Audiss (Teri), 15 remaining grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.  Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Services for Nana on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. At St. Andrews Church, 6290 Arnold Dr, Sonoma, CA 95476.  The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to her caregivers.
