Delores Elizabeth Messier

Delores Elizabeth Messier, 76, passed away December 15, 2017, in Sonoma, California. She was born on Jan. 1, 1941, to Isaac Edwin Hensley and Alice Eleanor Brokaw. She married Raymond George Messier on March 23, 1957. 

She is survived by her children, Dennis Messier (Valeria), Denice McCormick (Craig), and Ray Messier (Kandy).  She is also survived by her sisters, Charlotte Smiley and Stacia Sikorski, as well as six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and daughter Julie Brenek.

Delores worked for Sonoma County schools for over 30 years and had a passion for helping kids succeed in life and school.  She also had a love for the S.F. Giants, cruises, Puerto Penasco, Mexico, and slot machines. She will be missed and was loved by all who knew her.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 West Napa St., Sonoma, at 11:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Teen Services of Sonoma, St. Jude’s Hospital, and the Children’s Diabetes Foundation.
