David W. Feltman, loving husband, father, grandfather & a true friend who was known for his intelligence, quick wit and heart of gold, passed away on August 30, 2017 in Sonoma, California.  He would have celebrated his 75th birthday next month.  David was the son of Harold & Dorothy Feltman, born in Elgin, IL on October 17, 1942.  His early years were spent in Woodstock, IL, until the family moved to Elmhurst, IL where David attended Willowbrook High School & then graduated from Parsons College in Fairfield, IA,

David proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, with two tours in Vietnam with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, David started a lengthy career in the equipment finance industry in the Chicago area working many years for AAR Corp. In 1979, David moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he worked for some of the leading companies in the industry, including Security Pacific Leasing, Bank of America Leasing & Mellon Capital. He joined Heller Financial in Chicago in the late 1990’s. At the time of his death, David was employed by U.S. Bank Equipment Finance, headquartered in Portland, Oregon.

David is survived by his best friend & devoted wife, Valerie, his daughter, Jessica Potts, his granddaughter, Cadence, as well as his stepdaughter, Cara Gerard (Rob), and step-grandchildren, Chloe and Kellan.  David was an avid car guy who owned many classic cars over the years. David leaves behind a legacy of humor and wisdom accumulated over a lifetime and inspiration for leading a life well-lived that those who knew him can truly appreciate – many who were lifelong friends.
