Darold Gene Graves, born November 1, 1935, to Harold and Vera Graves, passed away at his home in Petaluma on June 11, 2017, after a lengthy illness.  We are so thankful that Darold is no longer in pain and is having the best reunion with his loved ones who left before him. He was a resident of Petaluma for over 65 years and was very active in the community. He was an artist and former President of the Petaluma Arts Association. He was a pilot and former Manager of the original Petaluma Skyranch Airport during the 1960s. He was an employee of Mare Island Shipyard for 32 years before retiring in 1990. He served as President of NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees), Petaluma Chapter 1077, for many years. He was also a member of S.I.R. (Sons in Retirement) #58.

Darold is survived by his wife, Ida Patzer Graves; and 3 children (from a previous marriage), James, Pleasanton, CA; Julie (John), Pleasant Grove, UT; and Jerry (Kobi), Heber City, UT -- who were blessed to have two moms, thanks to Darold and Ida’s love.  He was also blessed with 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his “favorite child,” his beloved Pomeranian, Angel.

Darold loved the Lord and was a member of Petaluma Valley Baptist Church for 40 years.

Services will be held Friday, June 16, 2017, at 11am at Petaluma Valley Baptist Church, 580 Sonoma Mountain Pkwy, Petaluma, CA.

Our family would like to thank Hospice of Petaluma as well as his caregivers, Vinnie and Dee.
