Marlyn F. "Mike" Cornelius

Mike Cornelius left this earth Sunday, October 29, 2017, after a brief illness.  He was born June 1, 1937, in Windom, Minnesota, to John and Verda Cornelius.  While at college in Michigan, Mike met and later married his wife, Sharon.  Mike worked as a contract manager for a major defense contractor.  He traveled extensively for his job.

Mike's life centered around work, family and church.  His marriage to Sharon was blessed with two daughters and a son.  Besides growing up in Minnesota and attending university in Michigan, Mike lived in Florida and the greater LA area.  In 1992 Mike and Sharon retired to Sonoma, where Mike has spent his time volunteering in Sonoma, his Temelec community and his church.

Mike is survived by his wife of 54 years; a daughter, Laura Stueve; a son, Michael; a second daughter, Julie VanWayne; and grandchildren Nathan and Marta Stueve, and William and Juliane Cornelius.  Mike is also survived by his sister, Frieda Paulson, and nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service for Mike on Saturday, November 4, at 1:30 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, 19353 Arnold Dr. in Sonoma.  Memorial donations may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or your favorite charity.
