Mimi died peacefully at home in her sleep March 1, 2018. She was born in 1944 in Portland, Oregon, to Jeannette O'Leary Luther and Orland Wilson Luther. She lived in Spokane for a time, graduating from Marycliff High School. She moved with her family to California in 1963 and then to San Francisco, where she met her future husband, David Cerruti. They were married in 1970 and Mimi, and later David, made their home in Sonoma. David passed away in 2013.
Mimi was a birdwatcher, and a lover of rock and roll and opera, of books and bookstores. She was a feminist, a conservationist, a trustworthy friend and superb listener.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Luther, of Davis, California; her nephew Dan Luther, of Sonoma; her nephew Chris Luther (Debi), of Maryland; grand-niece Rachel Luther and grand-nephew Joshua Luther, of Rohnert Park; the loving extended family of her late husband; a legion of loyal friends; and Lucy, her dear companion cat.
Some of her favorite charities were Audubon Society, Bon Marche Thrift Store in Sonoma, and RBA Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue.
A celebration of life is being planned by the family.
