Erik James Howatneck

Erik passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Santa Rosa, CA after a long battle with many health issues. Erik was loved and will be missed and was taken far too soon from us.

Erik was born and raised in Murrysville, PA and graduated from Franklin-Regional high school. He also attended two years of college for Music Business at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. He moved to the Northern CA area several years ago, where he lived with his brother.

Erik loved to play guitar, golfing and snowboarding. He loved attending music festivals and meeting new people. Phish was his favorite band. He loved new foods. His family was the most important thing to him.  He cherished life and had compassion for everyone he encountered. He was a true Pittsburgh, PA sports fan.

Erik loved to travel and was able to experience many destinations in his short life. He spent time in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, New York, Virginia, Maine, Colorado, Nevada and California. He visited both oceans and loved the Redwoods.

He is preceded in death by both grandmothers and grandfathers as well as his Aunt Lori, Aunt Peggy, Uncle Jack, and Uncle Billy. He is survived by both of his parents, Shelly and James of Branscomb, CA, his Brother Lee of Branscomb, CA, Sister Jamie recent graduate of Slippery Rock University, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
