Anita Elizabeth (Viviani) Tommasi

March 4, 2017

Anita Elizabeth (Viviani) Tommasi, known to all as "Nonnie," went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, John, on March 4th, 2017. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at her home of over 80 years, at the age of 100.
Nonnie was born on June 23rd, 1916, in Sonoma to Maria and Celso Viviani. Nonnie attended Sonoma Grammar School and Sonoma Valley High School.
On March 3rd, 1935, she married the love of her life, John Andrea Tommasi, at Saint Francis Solano Church. Together they had four children, John E. and Lillian M., who died shortly after birth, and Andrew Emil and John Celso Tommasi, who were raised in the family home in Sonoma.
Nonnie enjoyed being in her kitchen, tending her garden, attending family gatherings, cooking and travelling to Italy. When Nonnie worked outside the home, she was employed by August Sebastiani, and when the Viviani family owned the Sonoma Cheese Factory, she worked there. She loved to sit out on the porch and share stories and special moments with family and friends.
Nonnie is survived by her sister, Marie "Bea" Martini; son Andrew Tommasi; daughter-in-law Carole Tommasi; grandchildren Tony (Janine), Theresa (John), Laura (Michael), Catarina (Chris); and great-grandchildren Donnie, Chelsea, Dominic, Anthony, LeeAnna, Eliana and Bryden. There are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews living in California, Hawaii and Italy.
Nonnie is predeceased by her beloved husband, John; her beloved son John Celso; brothers Dino and Pete; sisters Clamera and Lillian; and daughter-in-law Frances.
The Tommasi family wishes to thank the incredible and loving caregivers, Adi and Ulita, for their devotion to our beloved Nonnie.
