Alvin Lawrence Beebe

Alvin L. Beebe passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at his home in Sonoma, CA surrounded by his family. 

He was born August 5, 1925 in North Dakota. He served in the "Lighter Than Air Corp" scouting for German U-Boats on the US Navy blimps during WWII. After being discharged, Al moved to California, where he met his future wife, Ruth. They were married under a beautiful oak tree in 1947. Al and Ruth were married for 67 glorious years.  He was a devoted husband to Ruth and spent the last years of her life taking care of her while she suffered from Alzheimer’s.  He was an example for all of us in what love actually is.

Al built many careers in his lifetime and had many homes across the Western United States.  He was a loving father to his 4 children, and a proud grandfather, and great grandfather to his 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Al made friends easily and was quick with a story or a joke for everyone. He retired in 2008 to spend more time with his wife, kids, and grandkids as well as play golf, poker, bowling and comparing the weekly grocery ads for the best deals on butter, mayonnaise, and ice cream. 

Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth, son, Patrick, grandson, Jordan, and his brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Timothy and Pamela Beebe; daughters and their spouses, Sherry and Jim Grundy, Candie and Russ Ralsten, honorary daughter Heidi Grapes; grandchildren Kyle Beebe, Kodi Beebe, Larissa Charles and husband Chris, Brandon Grundy and wife Kossima; great-grandchildren Abigail and Justin Grundy, and Skye Charles.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, July 26th at 2 p.m. at Duggan Mission Chapel, 525 West Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his Al’s name to, Hospice By the Bay, 190 West Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476
